Brief synopsis:

The events described in the 14 chapters, 109 pages and 40,000+ of this e-book  composition named ' Our Thassos Dream come true ' - Volume 1 - The story so far....... tells the story of the actual account of our journey from the outset, from booking our first holiday abroad and subsequent visits to Thassos. It also describes the purchase of our land and the build of our beautiful dream Olive Tree House.

My wife Debbie and I  began at the outset looking forward to a great first holiday abroad with a view of visiting other places in various countries over the coming years of our lives. We were not to know that we were going to fall in love with such a wonderful island, housing many wonderful people with unassuming and friendly natures.

 We visited other islands in Greece and Spain, and although we enjoyed our times there with all of them having their special beauty, we were always pulled back to the charm and special beauty of Thassos.

In the early days, we came back from Thassos eagerly awaiting our next visit. We would arrive back in England to prepare for our everyday type lives once again accepting that this is what everyone does after their holidays. After each trip to Thassos, the thought of leaving became harder each time and we would count down the days until our return.

 Nothing could have prepared us for the thoughts and feelings we were to have for Thassos and the relaxed, stress free and idyllic lifestyle it had to offer. So, we eventually began to evaluate what England had to offer. Obviously our children are  most important to us above anything else, but, they do grow up, and as they grow they lead their own lives to a certain extent.

 As my story progresses, you will see from the diaries which I kept on each and every trip how we started out with a simple two week holiday to having our own house built and planning our early retirement for an eventual permanent move to Thassos Island.

I am at present working on Volume 2 - The later years, which will show how things have developed in our lives as the move to Thassos draws closer, and more incredible experiences in our quest for all things Greek!
